[8:02:04] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:Hi, Mini... Sorry for disturb you and for not contacting you lately. The course it's going to start this saturday with 20 young students and some guests. We've finally decided to give emphasis to the study of the media and the journalistic ethics. I'd tried to contact Eric, but he wsa very busy. It would be very, very nice if some students could record some 'hello' for the students here at Mexico.
[9:10:19] maninderk dice:hi jose!
[9:10:23] maninderk dice:sorry was in a conference call for work
[9:10:54] maninderk dice:hmmm, lets see what we can do - I'm meeting early with some of the students on saturday for interviews (for the new class)
[9:11:15] maninderk dice:pe3rhaps I can get them to record hellos for your students and put them up on the site, so that by the time you start they can listen to it!
[17:39:30] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:That would be great!...
[17:40:49] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:And, if you think that would be useful, the students here can record some 'hi' too. Or also, some comments on a specific topic.
[17:41:21] maninderk dice:oh thats great! do you want to do a guest post on smashcast.org?!
[17:41:40] maninderk dice:also, tell me what we should call the students ...
[17:41:46] maninderk dice:"Students at ... "
[17:41:55] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:Letme see the site.
[17:43:05] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:...other way, could be posting the audio files at Ourmedia.org, so you can download them...
[17:44:28] maninderk dice:perfect
[17:44:33] maninderk dice:that would work too.
[17:45:36] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:Maybe in the first place, some 'hellos' could be fine, and then we can carry some topics, like the community, the studies, behaviors and other things that the studenst may be interested.
[17:45:48] maninderk dice:perfect!
[17:46:40] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:I'll try to find some student who can record in english, but the majority will be talking (and recording) in spanish.....
[17:47:11] maninderk dice:no problem, we want to celebrate bilingualism
[17:47:15] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:...also, if you can find some of your students who can record inn spanish, would be great.
[17:47:29] maninderk dice:but unfortunately the students coming this saturday aren't spanish speakers, so our hello may be in english
[17:47:39] maninderk dice:lets see. I'll try to get one of our spanish-speaking youth involved too.
[17:48:09] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:No problem. That could wotk just fine so I can put them in a translating excersice.
[17:48:39] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:excercise, I mean...
[17:48:59] maninderk dice:ok!
[17:51:40] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:Great! Then I'll get some audio fien from them, and then give you the links so you an download them and give to your students, so they can use them the way they want.
[17:52:14] maninderk dice:fabulous!
[17:54:20] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:This first approach would be the source to some kind of 'manual' on School Journalism. We'll recor all the sessions and then we'll try to transform them in some kind of on-line source so other teaches can use them to spread the know how.
[17:54:45] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:...all in spanish...
[17:54:52] maninderk dice:I'm sure that will be very useful!
[17:54:59] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:we hope so too!
[17:56:34] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:So, if you can write later to jaz...@hotmail.com
I'll copy to you the links of the audios. My old e-mail has just dissapeared and I'd lost your contact info...
[17:56:45] maninderk dice:done
[17:57:36] Jose Antonio Zapata Cabral dice:Ok. Thanks a lot! I'ts going to be great to do this collaboration.
